Kemi Johnson of Hicmans Old Hill club, competed
Successfully at Birmingham kickboxing event to win the Midlands Interclub Kickboxing Championship title in her age group.
Highlight and CONGRATULATIONS of the day went to Hickmans young Jack Fowkes, who succeeded in lifting his first British Kickboxing title. It was a hard fought contest, over a non stop gruelling 5 rounds. His display of technique and kicking was breathtaking.
During the competition the fights were delayed for a special presentation to our founder and chief instructor - Garry Hickman, He was presented with a set of samurai swords to commemorate his recent &th Dan achievement. (one of the highest in the country).
Gold Star Martial Arts National Championships 17/10/04
Hickmans Kickboxing sent out a strong squad to the Gold Star Martial Arts National Championships, which were held at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre.
In the light continuos fighting section they took 5 wins and 3 draws. There was also success in the junior free style kata, with Liah Hipkiss taking 2nd place and club mate Nicole Pointon taking 4th.
